There are many options out there now for people that are unwilling to pay for the huge telephone and mobile bills that they seem to be getting from the massive corporate companies who are certainly charging  a lot of money for things like fax to email services and 0800 numbers.

Smaller Companies

You could do what many other people are doing and try a smaller company. Just because you wont have heard of these companies it does not mean that they are not any good. They can often be a lot cheaper than the massive companies and will not try and take advantage of you in any way.

Surely talking is all you need to do?

Games Consoles

Okay it may seem like an option that is quite out there but it is actually a great way to keep in contact with people. If you have a lot of friends using something like the Xbox 360’s live service then this can be a very cheap way to talk to them. For £40 a year you could actually be speaking to everyone you need too. The best thing about this is that you can just plug in the headset to talk to 8 people at the same time over party chat. Although this does actually sound like a very geeky way to do things it is very useful and will without a doubt save you on some money.

Skype

Skype is still a big service that not too many people are using is but if your not you are missing out on something huge. You can make free calls to anyone else who is using the service which is simply amazing when you think about it. You can also have free video chats and instant messenging conversations which is always a nice bonus. Know someone that doesnt have skype, well it costs very little to ring them.

In the end it is up to you, get one of those premium rate phone numbers or look into getting Skype for free!
